Lynn
and Becky's evident and sincere love for the Lord can be freely seen
and heard through their songs and transparent sharing of what God is
currently doing in their lives. They diligenly seek God's heart
regarding each ministry opportunity. They do not merely entertain but
prayerfully combine music, scripture and testimony to challenge and
equip listeners.Both Lynn and Becky are Iowa natives. Becky attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, attaining her degree in elementary and secondary education, with an emphasis in psychology. Lynn graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, majoring in elementary education. Becky taught 4th grade until she took a leave of absence in 1984 to become a full-time Bible teacher and counselor at Midwest Challenge, a Christian drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for women. It was here that she met Lynn who was also a live-in counselor and Bible teacher.
The satellite director of Midwest Challenge asked Lynn and Becky to accompany him as he traveled and promoted the program. Lynn and Becky provided Christian music and inspiration. They soon found many churches asking them to come back and give a concert of worship and praise. Thus their part-time ministry through music began.
After a few years, the rehabilitation center closed and both Lynn and Becky went back into full-time teaching in Christian schools. For four years they taught during the school year and traveled throughout the Midwest presenting concerts in the summer. They increasingly felt God leading them to present their Christian witness through their message and songs in a full-time ministry. In 1989 they resigned from their teaching jobs in faith, believing that God would provide their needs.
Soon to follow this step of faith was their first recording of a demo tape and their first cassette entitled, "Called to Account."
Their ministry grew as they presented concerts predominantly in Iowa and Minnesota. God also opened doors to other avenues of ministry design. Lynn and Becky created and developed a Vacation Bible School curriculum, "Stand Firm"; began a retreat ministry for women, held at church camps and conference centers, and led a music and drama Teen Missions team overseas. Their ministry has taken them to more than 20 of the United States, Canada, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand. God has blessed them with two additional recordings. "Fix Your Eyes on Jesus" was cut in 1994 and their recent release is entitled "Your Heart Will Dance Again". Both recordings feature original songs with lyrics and music written by Lynn and Becky.
After 20 years of ministering together as Lynn & Becky Ministries, Lynn Johnson, Becky Linn and their Board of Directors have chosen to incorporate as a non-profit charitable corporation under the new name FOLLOW HARD Ministries to meet the needs of their expanding ministry opportunities. All gifts to FOLLOW HARD Ministries will now qualify as a charitable contribution.
Why was the name Follow Hard Ministries chosen?
Jesus Christ gave His all when He suffered and died on the cross for the sin of mankind. He didn't come to earth to give us a religion, but a relationship with Him?the invitation to connect with the Holy God forever. He sacrificed his life for us. How can we do anything less than FOLLOW HARD after Him?the God who gave the Best heaven had?
